2024: The year Uplink took off - and we’re just getting started!
Dear Uplink Community,
What a year it has been. In 2024, Uplink didn’t just grow—we surged. We shattered expectations, expanded our community, built a thriving ecosystem, and set new benchmarks for what’s possible in decentralized connectivity. From record-breaking user registrations to industry-first partnerships and game-changing product launches, this year was all about momentum.
And the best part? We’re only getting started.
At the beginning of the year, our primary objective was clear: strengthen the Uplink community and build the ecosystem to match the growing demand on our platform. What we saw, however, was even more exciting than we anticipated. Rather than just expanding our community numbers, our users drove directly to the platform, surpassing all our projected engagement and growth metrics. The momentum behind Uplink has never been stronger, and 2024 was the year we proved that demand-driven DePIN works at scale.
One of the most defining moments of the year was achieving 150,000 user registrations—far beyond our initial projections. This was paired with a global Fortune 500 partnership, securing Uplink’s position as a leader in enterprise connectivity. We also announced the close of our $10 million funding round led by Framework Ventures, giving us the resources to expand our network and develop even more powerful tools for our users. Across the industry, our impact was undeniable, with Uplink featured in major publications, including The Block, BeInCrypto, Cointelegraph, and Coindesk. In total, our messaging reached across all platforms, fueling the conversation around decentralized connectivity and proving that people are ready for a new model—one where individuals and businesses, not just telecom giants, power the network.
On the product side, 2024 was a breakout year. The launch of the Uplink Explorer and Dashboard transformed how our community interacts with our platform. Within the first month, we saw 40,000 signups, a number that would more than triple by year’s end. This platform allowed users to pre-register their routers, refer others, and earn points for their early contributions. It also laid the groundwork for the next phase of our ecosystem, starting with the introduction of Surge, a feature that allows businesses and partners to target high-demand areas and reward the community for providing connectivity. We launched Surge in Buenos Aires as an early test, and it’s only the beginning of what’s possible when real-world demand meets decentralized supply.
None of this would have been possible without the Uplink community. This year, we saw unprecedented engagement, with over 73,000 new followers on X and 41,000 new Discord members joining the conversation. Our rebranded website won three design awards, and our content garnered some of our most recorded engagement. For the first time, we built out a dedicated marketing team and added to our executive team, led by our 2024 near hire and CMO Claudia Olah, a Web3 veteran with a track record of launching and scaling projects across Shanghai, Silicon Valley, and Portugal. With this new team in place, our message reached more people than ever before, and we were invited to speak about Uplink on five major podcasts and at key industry events across the world, including the Wireless Broadband Alliance’s WGC Dallas and the Avalanche Summit in Argentina.
As we look ahead to 2025, our vision is even bigger. In the coming months, we will be launching the Uplink App, which will introduce key new features like router validation, daily point earnings, and referral activation. Shortly after, a major app upgrade will fully integrate our platform, giving the community even more ways to participate and contribute to the network prior to its full launch. At the same time, we are preparing for the launch of our testnet on Avalanche, laying the groundwork for our on-platform token launch. Beyond testnet, 2025 is the year we’re going officially live as we prepare for Uplink’s TGE later this year.
February will be a major month for announcements, with updates on platform development, partnerships, and our roadmap for the year ahead. Q1 and Q2 will be some of the most exciting months in Uplink’s history, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming next.
